Even more shockingly, the only policy alternatives the GOP could scrape up were "we'll tell ya after you elect us" or "let's roll back the clock so we can suck worse than Hoover"

It's gotta just sting your asses that an all but gimme election, your chosen guy managed to choke it all away. It's ok, you still have a couple of years available for some more wailing and gnashing of teeth before your next season to pick the Biggest Loser and figuring how you can toss another election down the drain.

U.S. stocks rallied Friday, with the Dow closing above 14,000 for the fist time since October 2007, as investors welcomed a batch of strong economic data.

The Dow Jones industrial average jumped more than 149 points, or 1.1%, to hit 14,009.8, its highest closing level since Oct. 12, 2007. The Dow is now less than 200 points from its all-time high of 14,198.10.

The S&P 500 rose 1% and is also at its highest level since 2007 -- about 4% away from its record high. The Nasdaq gained 1.2%.
