Fine by me. Employers should be able to hire and fire for whatever reason they choose. Discrimination lawsuits are tremendously expensive (not to mention often/usually frivolous) and employers already have a huge incentive not to discriminate.

No, I mean, discriminating actually costs them money in the absence of legal ramifications. If they don't allow, for instance, black customers, then they lose customers. If they don't allow black job applicants they're passing up qualified applicants.

Why are we still bound up in our current health insurance model? Is it really outperforming what other countries use? The real problem with ObamaCare is that it won't actually fix ****.
            John Brown did nothing wrong.

              This is 100% correct.

Do you actually have any evidence that he is wrong? You can't say you are "introducing reality" when the only argument you can bring to bear is baseless cynicism.

True enough. The private sector's desegregation is a matter discussed by Sowell--first black chemists were in the private sector and not academia because academia was closed to them on racial groubds; the private sector was not. This was in the 40's if I recall.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

The reality is that discrimination happened in the private sector, pretending history didn't happen because it doesn't match up with your simplistic economic models is just absurd.

It's not an argument; it's an observation. And my cynicism is far from baseless.

Hopefully the court decides to do the right thing and secure people's right to public health care
Religious Freedoms > some ephemeral non-existant right to public health care.
