This is delusion of the highest order. Democrats targetted Akin & Mourdock to link Romney with their views. They wanted people to see Romney = Akin's comments on "legitimate rape" (one of the dumbest coments I've ever heard which cost Akin the election - without it, he would have won).

Liberals were targetting Mourdock (Lugar sour grapes), and Akin long before the comments. What, you don't think I keep an eye on DU?

I'm an ex-Anglican, ex-Protestant. I don't have much animosity for Luther. I was happy as a protestant. I only left because I believed we all should be one church not because of bitterness with evangelicals. Anglicans OTOH - completely different fish. I'm surprised Strangelove didn't suggest Elizabeth I. I'm probably one of the few people who have a low opinion of her.

The Romney campaign really screwed the pooch by taking money away from Akin and Mourdock. His own donations dropped off substantially and it lowered turnout nationwide. Conservatives knew exactly why he did it and were not happy with Romney.
