Ben you've yet to put forward a concrete way Akin could have been saved that doesn't read like a delusion. Had the Tea Party candidate won the primary in MO, you'd be waving goodbye to Mccaskill and a real effort at saving Murdoch could have been made. The fact that Obama's vote share dropped so substantially despite the demographic factors that should have suggested just the opposite happening. We'll see more when the votes are all finalized.

Again, you're assuming what you are trying to prove. Akin was competitive with McCaskill as was Mourdock. When Romney pulled their funding they lost. It's just as simple as that. Show me evidence that prior to the statement that Akin was not competitive with McCaskill?

You sincerely believe that a replacement for Akin would have won after he made his statement? Dude, they would not have been able to find a candidate willing to run in that span of time. Even if they did, if they were pulling Akin out - putting anymore dollars into the replacement would have been a waste of time and money.

Why do you think the liberals were targetting Akin + Mourdock? Here's a hint - they aren't the stupid party. They wanted Romney to dump them - as soon as he did - Romney destroyed both of their campaigns, and the collateral damage was just icing on the cake.

This is delusion of the highest order. Democrats targetted Akin & Mourdock to link Romney with their views. They wanted people to see Romney = Akin's comments on "legitimate rape" (one of the dumbest coments I've ever heard which cost Akin the election - without it, he would have won).
