The idea that the Pugs are dead is as inevitbale a conversation as the Dems are dead everytime they lose. Pugs need to find a means to reach out to Hispanic voters meaning they need to own, sponsor, and suggest meaningful immigration reform ASAP i.e. before Obama and the Dems take credit for it. They need to stop the idiocy immediately regarding immigration xenophobia. Reasonably they have no shot at the black vote any time soon.

All other social issues need to be de-emphasized in favor of being on message for the fiscal disaster that inevitably Obama will be unable to manage.

Or alternatively they could simply step up to the plate and legalize marijuana.

The sweet and sad thing is some of the positions of Republicans are either non negotiable to a large portion of the party or on issues where they can win points against Dems like fiscal responsibility, they muck it up by being liars.

Not nearly. You could pick a position and Mitt Romney's argued on both sides. Turnout being this down was a surprise to the pundits. Was a surprise to me as well. I had expected turnout to be up even though I had predicted the exact opposite. So it was a pleasant surprise early this morning to discover that I had made the correct assessment of Romney's impact on the Republican electorate. He just never connected. He had poor favourability and intensity scores and these failings were well known back in the primaries when his weaknesses were exposed.
