What a retarded argument we hear all the time from the conservative side.

That people are willing to work for 2 bucks a day doesn't prove that this is what they want, merely that resources are scarce.
Fallacy of equivocation. Specifically, you are equivocating over different senses of the word 'want' (one is relative, the other absolute).

I want you to work for $2/month as my code-monkey.

What workers want also scales on the "relative" side.

People like you love to obfuscate the second point (resources are scarce) to funnel "free will" in discussions of market behavior.

Not much, I was on a tangent already, and you nurtured it further.

Yes, greed should only apply to you, not the workers.

World's richest woman should then just actually do what she says and hire Africans to mine instead.
This. Methinks that productivity plays a figure. I'm sure that if it were actually profitable to open mines in africa and hire these 2 dollar a day workers that she would have already done so.

Also if she can find workers in Australia willing to work for her wages, good on her.

If he wants to hire someone with my talents, definitely. I have never had much difficulty finding work.

Fine, I'll just go with Chinese coders for $3/month. I hope we can make our bottom line this year. Better petition Congress for subsidies.

She couldn't do the work. She's probably too lazy. But she will talk about people who will do the work.

I'm hugely impressed by your in depth knowledge of Africa, Africans and African miners in particular. When was it you lived there in the mining camps in South Africa ? Are you now fluent in Xhosa ? Bet you do a nifty line in gum boot dancing.
