Then why do you even post on this forum at all?

    • Don't bother. DD will never acknowledge your responses. He's been called out on so much nonsense on these forums. He just ignores it and goes on to repeat the same crap later. He thinks posting one link and whinging when no one replies to it is winning an argument.

I think if we were able to identify a better way to "district", one that doesn't recognize physical location other than maybe state, we could have a better cross-sectional representation of the public.
Proportional representation would achieve this. Multiple smaller, special interest parties would arrise and elect members. There could still be parties representing big business, but they wouldn't be the only two electing candidates.
This will never happen in the US, the Lobbies and Big Tent parties won't allow it.

Listen ****, you're standing in support of states that insist on charging next to nothing in taxes, have terrible life expectency and education rates for their citizens and then turn down the chance of a huge helping hand for the people based on purely ideological grounds. I'll go further, the deaths of all the people who could have been saved by medicare expansion fall squarely in the lap of the Mississipi GOP leaders. They are ****ing murderers. This is why people like them (and you) are despicable people who cause me to become angry about this ****. It's not about some ****ing partisan debate, people are dying out there.

Notice how Kentonio listed this first? Apparently it would be better if MS had low life expectency, poor education and high taxes like Philadelphia.

Why does it require a huge collection of rich people? You can raise taxes on everyone if you are directly improving their lives in a way that is going to save them huge amounts of money in the long term and improve their overall life chances. Paying an extra few % of income and getting healthcare in return is not an unreasonable deal.

Of course you do, it's much easier to blame schools/government etc rather than actually try and help shape them better.

Don't be obtuse, the vast majority of GOP congressmen and senators signed the Norquist 'No Tax' pledge, and that attitude of 'no new taxes ever' is endemic in the GOP. A California GOP guy who got kicked out just yesterday for voting for a modest tax reform. They vote 'no taxes' regardless of whether that tax raise is going to hurt or help anyway, just on the principle that 'Taxes are bad, m'kay!'. It doesn't get much more ideological than that.
