Prosecution by definition isn't 100 percent effective. It's trivial enough to show that the number of actual honor killings is >12. The real question you should be asking is how many are being done. That I don't know.

Is it your point that honor killings, like any other crime, can't be caught 100% of the time? If so I have no idea what basis you had for saying "honor killings are permitted in Canada". That's as valid as saying "rape is permitted in Canada" or "fraud is permitted in Canada" or "absolutely everything is permitted in Canada, come to Canada and do what you please, it's in a state of anarchy". No crime can be prosecuted 100% of the time...

You've said "Honor killings are permitted in Canada. There have been examples where a family has killed a girl for marrying someone who isn't a muslim, and they've gotten away scott free." By all means, cite these examples...

And I'm arguing that this one in particular isn't seeing the enforcement that it should, due to a substantial number of people saying that "it's a part of their culture, it should be ok", and "we don't have the right to tell other people what to do." Seeing as I personally said, "X is the question that you should be asking" and also stated that I simply do not know that answer, I'm really not seeing your point here.

It's blindingly clear to me that you equate, "being wiser" with "agreeing with Elok's position". Especially concerning matters of faith. Which is just not so.

Please, cite a case where the murder of a muslim woman in Canada was not punished because the police, prosecutors, jury or judges thought that "we don't have the right to tell other people what to do."

If that's the case you should be able to show a statistical increase in accidental deaths amongst young muslim women in Canada compared to non-muslim women. Arranging the car accident would be difficult however, since if they're really hardcore conservative muslims they wouldn't permit their daughters to drive which means that someone else would have to be in the car driving.

Which is why the Shafia killings killed the following people:

1 50 year old non shia muslim woman
3 Girls between the ages of 19 and 13.

The Shafia killings were reported as a tragic accident, it was only prosecuted as a honor killing when the police actually managed to find the second vehicle involved in the accident, and realized that it was registered to the father. The police were able to ascertain that it was a honor killing from that evidence.

Had the father managed to dispose of the automobile, he would be a free man today, and we'd have seen a blurb in the paper about a tragic accident where a vehicle ended up in the canal. That would be it.

Show some examples where "EVERYBODY" knew it was an honor killing and the police ignored it.

The police in Shafia were lucky. Their original assumption was not 'honor killing', but 'accidental death'. How many other cases get reported as accidental death where the police never find the additional evidence?

Just like there are no-go areas in Paris? Police don't prosecute all crimes, and they certainly don't do so with honor killings, because it's politically incorrect to hold muslims responsible.
