Recently, I was talking to a friend of mine (an attorney, by the way) who is pretty short (probably your height) and he mentioned something about women never approaching men. When I guffawed at that, we had a discussion about my supposed height privilege. On a personal level, it has possibly contributed to women approaching me, helped me in sales jobs and positions of authority, contributed to me being in positions of authority (even to the very mundane like my being foreman when I had jury duty), boosted my confidence while a child, etc. On a social level, an absurd majority of CEO's are over 6', women on dating sites regularly insist on men over a certain height, etc.
I don't fully buy it but perhaps there is something to height privilege akin to white privilege. At the very least, tall people do stand out and the physical act of having to look up to tall people may have trained, as an 'extended instinct', so to speak, the shorter masses to ascribe greater ability, beauty, authority, etc. to those who are tall.
So many people live their lives trying to get noticed. Tall people don't have that problem"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

When it comes to height, every inch counts--in fact, in the workplace, each inch above average may be worth $789 more per year, according to a study in the Journal of Applied Psychology (Vol. 89, No. 3).
The findings suggest that someone who is 6 feet tall earns, on average, nearly $166,000 more during a 30-year career than someone who is 5 feet 5 inches--even when controlling for gender, age and weight.
I guess few have ever done less with more than I have."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

In a recent book, journalist Malcolm Gladwell reported the results of his survey of about one-half of the CEOs of Fortune 500 companies. He found that the average CEO is approximately 3 inches taller than the average American man, who stands 5-foot-9. Further, 30 percent of the CEOs are at least 6-foot-2; the corresponding percentage for American adult men overall is only 3.9 percent
In all but three American presidential elections this century, the taller man has won.Give job recruiters two invented resumes that have been carefully matched except for the candidates' height, as one study did in 1969. Fully 72% of the time, the taller man is "hired"In 1994 James Sargent and David Blanchflower, of America's Dartmouth College, analysed a sample of about 6,000 male Britons whose progress was monitored from birth to early adulthood. Short teenaged boys made less money when they became young adults (aged 23) than their taller peers--even after other attributes, such as scores on ability tests or parents' social status, were factored out. For every four inches of height in adolescence, earnings went up more than 2% in early adulthood. Another survey, of graduates of the University of Pittsburgh, found that those who were 6'2" or taller received starting salaries 12% higher than those under six feet.
The western ideal for men appears to be about 6'2" (and is slowly rising, as average heights increase).... The men who suffer are those who are noticeably short: say, 5'5" and below.

Height is also a correlate for intelligence, so merely controlling for various other factors is insufficient.
(spoken by a 5'11 man working for a company run by a 5'6 man in a city run by another 5'6 man)
By the way, at a guess, height has a standard deviation of about 2" around 5'10 in the US, while individual income probably has a standard deviation (even restricting to the middle 2/3) of about 25k. The height variable (even without controlling for intelligence) can only explain 6% of the spread.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

Why is height correlated with intelligence, KH? Is it possible that socially-conferred advantages with regards to height increased reproductive success with other advantaged people (the intelligent)?
The one article I posted cited numerous studies of primitive societies in which height predicated social success. This has apparently been going on since the origin of our species.
Controlling for intelligence could under-represent the benefits of height."Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

For once in my life, and I feel physically ill doing it, I have to agree with Slowwie 100%: get out there and make yourself more employable to the Marines by filling in your skillset voluntarily. They’re not coming to your door, so you have to make yourself noticeable to them – in their eyes you’re like a 5’0” dweeb trying to get the attention of a hot woman – it ain’t gonna happen!
It’s like you’ve had every conventional advantage handed to you on a plate and you’re pissing them away – but then again that’s your trap, you just don’t try hard in any situation because you seem to feel you’re entitled…
Oh, and GTFO of Philly, the irony is it’s stunting your growth!

Based on what little I know of Welsh pronunciation, I'm thinking the first word should be "Brone," then "ur" with the U somehow pronounced as in "run" (which is actually slightly difficult for me), then "ah-oor."
Actually it sounds like how an English speaker would pronounce this:
“Bron ar ire”
You also need to roll your tongue on the ‘r’ sound of the last word…
