I'm wearing baggy fits. I just measured my thigh. Mind you, I haven't been squatting so this is actually smaller than what my thighs have been but I measured 24 inches circumference. My fit in baggy jeans is not too bad right now but there isn't much slack.

I also have just under 17 inch calves

I have thick thighs from running and women I am intimate with always complement them. Of course if I had football player arm muscles they would probably be more likely to complement that.
Al, what happened with OCS. Have you considered alternative branches? Have you considered Police or fire/rescue jobs? No insult intended but the longer you stay out of a professional career from your graduation from college the harder it's going to be to get into a professional career. Maybe you need to do something in the interim.
I know how dress shirts should look but we know that 'American cut' shirts are baggy on an athletic body. I wear fitted or 'European cut' and they're still not quite right, often baggy in my waist though tight in my shoulders and upper back.

I want to be a Marine officer and though they are reducing their strength, I'm not giving up.

Hmmm, apparently I'm 15lbs overweight - just a couple of pounds shy of the perfect weight for a heavy frame and I most definitely ain't that!
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

Good for you Al, don't give up. However, consider strengthening your resume by getting a fire/rescue/police job or a job that somewhat mirrors what you want to do in the Marine Corps.
Any job that you get will still allow you to leave it at any time and become a Marine Officer. Another way to get in is to enlist first then apply after you are already a Marine. I would not recommend this way but it is an option. I became a Naval Officer after I was enlisted.

          Volunteer fire department!

Police and fire in Philadelphia would be very difficult.

Isn't it a long process to get into that, anyway?

Ahem! You want to serve mankind so much you'll do anything, for free. Imagine what you could do if you were doing something that you want to do, for pay.
Now, I ask you, how great is this selling point?

There is no volunteer fire department in Philadelphia.

I may be able to volunteer at the local station but not sure if that's possible given concerns about liability. I'll check it.

So you travel to a surrounding rural community. CRAP! The resume will build itself. I guess you can keep laying around waiting for some recruiter to somehow discover you.
And what if one magically does, and asks you what you've been up to lately? You can say driving to a rural community to offer support in the form of volunteer firefighting, or you've beeen sitting around taking photos of yourself. Who would you hire?

I don't have a car so doing that is not feasible.

But, again, I will check it out. I went to high school with someone who is currently in the fire department. I'll find out from him.

Are you suggesting he... move out of Philadelphia?

I'm totally serious in regard to the thought behind the service. That was pretty much just to get your attention and talk to me. Do something of service that shows both the ability to lead and follow.
What have you got to lose, Al?

I know. I'll call the Philly FD and find out about volunteering possibilities.

Poor people in India are content, too, because they don't know what they're missing.

Have always heard that height is a significant advantage in every social situation. I'm not so sure myself but as a tall person, I'm probably blind to my privilege.
