The range of weight they give me is 177/197/217 pounds (80/89/98 Kg). I am a little over 6ft3, so I used 191 cm.

That's a large range. A year ago I was 220-230 pounds. I'm down to ~190, but still have some flab on the tummy.

Probably you are the right weight, just need more muscle.

As I expected, joining the Philly FD is impossible. No applicants until 2013.

I saw an opportunity to be a Fire Safety Rep for your block (basically just check if everyone on your block has smoke detectors). When I went to my local station with the form, they looked at me like I was crazy. I spoke to the station captain and he told me to call the number and said that, for liability reasons, there's nothing beyond just telling them who needs smoke detectors that a volunteer can do. Sucks but it's what I expected.

I called the number and the lieutenant there said he'll e-mail me something to get me started. I guess I have to do the knocking on doors a specific way so I'll wait til I get what he sends me before going up and down the block.

Simpler way take your thumb and middle finger. If you can get your thumb and middle finger to touch then normal frame. If they overlap small frame, if they dont touch then large frame

I remember a recent study claiming that motivation proved to be an even greater predictor of success.

Is your estimate based on a general estimate pertaining to folks that go to college or are you doing an individual assessment here based on your observations? I ask because it seems that an inability to learn from failed experiences would argue against higher intelligence.
