    1. That's a gross generalization.
    2. You're more Protestant than Imran in your attitude.
    3. You haven't addressed any of the points in Imran's post.
    4. You haven't shown any interest in discovering your own errors yourself.

    • See this is a problem. No one can criticise or speak truthfully of the church. A wise man is thankfull for a rebuke. That's what has changed over the last 2000 years. Now christians insist that you flatter them constantly or you're excluded.

Seems to indicate that Jesus WANTS people to gather together in God's name. Interesting He doesn't say He is in the midst of every individual believer (though I believe that He is), but when two or three are gathered in His name. He also speaks of a Church very often as well.

Divorcing our faith from a fellowship is something against what Jesus wants to do.

I also dispute that we are straying farther and farther from God over time - it was only a few hundred years ago where the revelation of God that slavery is wrong was heard loud and clear by Christians.

Furthermore, the Kingdom is already in our midst, Kid! We must try to bring it here more and more until Jesus comes again, resurrects the dead, and creates a new Heaven and new Earth!

First, of course it's is commanded to have fellowship. That doesn't have anything to do with what I've said. And as I've said it's doesn't make us righteous.

Second, you think because we now longer have slaves we're better christians than others who did? That's the litmus test? Don't think so. Being a christians in the NT sense means a whole lot more than that.

We criticize you, we get a Sloww quote about attending to our own salvation. We respond to your criticisms of us, you say we should be thankful for your criticism. Do you see any disconnect between those two behaviors?

Sloww was only criticising you? No. And see how I responded.

              • The point is that accepting criticism is being concerned with your salvation. Sloww couldn't have meant not to give people criticism, or he shouldn't have, but that's my interpretation.

I'm pretty sure you misread him. At least, I took that quote to mean "mind your own business."

Have you been to a baptist church (or any church) and told everybody that you literally worship the bible as a god? How did that go over with them?

Heck, tomorrow's Sunday. Try it out and report back! (Fair warning that, depending on the strictness of the church you attend, you might be expelled for professing such a blasphemous belief. I'm not responsible if this happens - you've been given more than ample warning, but you've chosen to ignore it.)

Are you saying that the bible isn't god? If you're saying that the bible isn't god, then you're contradicting what you've said previously. If you still maintain that the bible is god, then you're being dishonest by accusing me of creating a caricature of you; in this case, you really ought to confirm with the members of your church that they also believe that the bible is god.

I'm not the right kind of christian. But then I don't lower the standard. It seems that you and Imran don't like the standard high and your argument is "the standard is low because you couldn't reach it if it were high." Right?

You have consistently lied about the beliefs of everybody else who has posted in this thread, and yet you "don't lower the standard"? If violating the ten commandments (specifically the one about bearing false witness) doesn't qualify as "lowering the standard," then I shudder to think what would lower the standard in your mind.
