  • We do distinguish between the executive and the legislative. Wehn is the legislative ever considered part of the administration?

    • And yes, I was talking about Nancy Pelosi, who has never held office in Germany, so that didn't even make sense.

Although it pains me to admit it, Ben has a point. Bush was not a fiscal conservative and Pelosi is about as far left as you can get in mainstream US politics. The Democrats did control the entire legislature. It's retarded to say "oh, the economy fell apart during a conservative administration, it must be Bush's fault." It's then even more retarded to conclude that Obama has been better about it. It's equally or more likely that someone to the left of Bush would be exacerbating the problem rather than fixing it.

        • 1. It was still a Republican administration.
          2. The Dems did not have the ability to override veto.

The buck still stops @ POTUS.

The Democrats still had their own veto point and if the buck always stops at the president, you wouldn't be blaming Congressional republicans today for any of the problems we are in today, as I have seen you do in other threads.

I blame the current President foursquare for his incompetence. And the previous one for his. How is that wrong? And why does it preclude my dislike of anyone in Congress?

Apparently you still haven't parsed that I despise all politicians, regardless of political bent. I haven't voted for an incumbent this century.

I can remember it. He got a lot of ire from conservatives for his horrid drug benefit.

Overall I still think he was a better president than Obama, though I'm sure I'm about to endure the rage of dozens of posters here for that comment.

The Dems by themselves couldn't override any vetoes. They needed Republicans to join them in order to do it.

You are crazy. I'm not enraged, I just think you are ridiculous.
