All too predictable. Try linking to a post about sin that isn't in a "Ben Hates Gays" thread. You can consider this moving the goalposts if you like, but I asked for a post where you discuss the "total depravity of mankind," not the "total depravity of homosexuals."

Which is why I start that post with the statement, "everybody sins". Saying that sodomy is wrong isn't the same as saying that only those who commit sodomy are wrong. Why? Total depravity.

If I said that all political parties are corrupt but that one particular political party is a hundred times more corrupt than the others, then I would not be talking about the total corruption of all political parties.

My favourite bible quote is actually that poem in Genesis. It's the one I used in my testimony.

Explain how posting the exact same stuff about other peoples' sins several dozen (several hundred?) times is going to benefit your soul more than, say, reflecting on your own sins. The turnaround at this site is not very high, everybody has heard your spiel about sex by now. And as far as I know you're still a virgin and the Bible hasn't changed recently, so you have nothing new to offer on the subject.

The comparison is legit, because everyone is saying it.

Hating religious people = good.
Hating gay people = bad.

You just defended the position yourself by saying it's ok to hate religious people because that's a choice that they make and not, presumably, "a fibre of their being". I should think that most religionistas would disagree.

Hating gay people is wrong. Hating the sin that they commit? Ok.

That's what I expect a fellow Christian to say.

My point is that you can't compare someones sexual orientation with someones religious opinion.
The first is a fact, the 2nd is a choice.
that many religious people would disagree with that doesn't change the fact. I'm a 'religious' (no, I'm a christian, but ok...) person myself and I think it's ok to attack me for what I believe. I'd hate it though if people would hate me b/c I'm a white dutch guy.
