However, saying the operations of any business you work for is "petty" is never going to go down well, and those slight word differences are not BS, they are extremely important. That doesn't sound good, Alby. While I'm not particularly polite on this forum, when someone is in a position of authority over me, I've learned the hard way several times that it's better just to ignore the part of you that really wants to point out how much of a dumbass someone is, or argue, or contradict, or any of that sort of thing. I'm not particularly experienced but there have been several times in my past jobs where I've wanted to just do my own thing or argue with my boss, but I force myself to smile and say "yes, sir!" This policy has worked out very well for me. My bosses trust me, they like me, and think I am smart. Something I've discovered is that if you agree with someone, they assume you are smart because they assume you think like they do.
Remember that jobs aren't about you, they're about what you provide to other people.If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?
