Canada's anti gay effort wasn't funded by the bunch of out of state/country Mormons and red necks from the south. Money still talks especially in US politics not that that changes the fact that we've been working on progressive agendas for decades while Alberta was still red neck central.

Doesn't matter who funded television ads.

            Californians voted. You lose.

Do you not see the difference between joking with your Arab friend (with whom you have an established relationship) being a terrorist and posting on an internet message board railing against sand ******s, as you do.

Am I the only one cognizant of those being two completely different things?
You are never cognizant you stupid sand ******.

In my mind there is a difference between someone who advocates for gay rights but teases someone like Asher because it is fun vs someone who really doesn't believe in gay rights and who really means the anti-gay stuff they spew. Sure, I will happily throw around slurs with people I consider friends or at least acquaintances but there is usually a large background, going back years, where I have advocated equal rights. Part of this is just me being a dick to an individual person, part of it is my background where insensitive drubbings are considered common place and par for the course, but in the end I hope everyone understands, based on my long standing positions, exactly where I fall down on the issue. I am not a saint and I will likely say many more dickish things simply because I can and because I think it is funny but in the end I'm usually on the right side and come publicly on the right side long before it's ever a question.

If Asher gets overly sensitive I intend to post lots more *** jokes just so he knows exactly where I am coming from.

What do you want from me? You're the one trying and failing to justify your racist garbage.

At least we know Docfeelgood does it just for the shock. We know David Floyd and Heraclitus are dead up serious. Where do you fit in? I think in the latter, no matter how much you may try to claim your statements about how sand ******s should all be nuked, wet backs this and that, etc. are construed as you just joking like 'regular joes'

I can't re-iterate enough. There's a difference between making some jokes outside of the public sphere at the expense of your friend whom you have a relationship with and railing on an internet message board about wet backs and sand ******s. There's a world of difference. Maybe you should go to Stormfront with your trash.
Now that we are sorting out racist credentials, I would like to make it clear that I am a "dead up serious" racist. I am also genuinely homophobic. My mysogyny is sincere.

Can we drop all the "you're a racist" blather please folks.

Can you at least agree that it was legal, that the vote was etremely close (and would pass if held today), and that the last minute media blitz by out of state money might have made a huge difference in that last 1%?

                          I'm not overly sensitive.

I tend to only feel insulted when someone I respect says something truthful but shameful about me. Someone like you saying something like "***" doesn't do anything for me but reinforce my opinion of you.

Having a hard time seeing how a state that still doesn't have something can still be first to have it.

IMO the best part of the whole series was when the son gets engaged to a Jewish girl and then we all got to watch as the two sets of parents went ape **** that their son/daughter was marrying outside their religion. It was great especially since so many of the feelings expressed, though completely unPC, were so true for both sets of older parents. Let's just say the older WASP couple were very unhappy that their only male heir had decided to marry a Jewish woman while the Jewish girl's parents were not exactly enamored with the idea of their daughter marrying a nonJewish guy. It's classic TV dealing with sensative topics which never the less are true to real life.
Archie Bunker did not have a son. George Jefferson's son Lionel, had a half white fiancée on the show, but she wasn't jewish.

                              ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
