  • I wonder what the payoff to Pakistan will be? They obviously knew where OBL was and decided it was time to let him go.

Have you actually been reading the stories about the operation? Because it's very apparent that Pakistan had no idea what was going down and were not involved with the raid at all.

Yeah, the US was only days away from nuking Islamabad.

Have you read the stories about where he was located? The Pakistanis knew he was there.

I didn't say otherwise. Knowing he was there != being involved with the raid.

I beleive that is Boris's point. Paki's likely were complicit in hiding OBL. Thus they were completely in the dark when it came to operational details of the hit on the compound.

Where the **** did I say the Pakistanis were involved in the raid?

I said they knew where he was and decided to okay his being taken out. Based on past Pakistani actions I would be very surprised if there was no payback for their consent.

If that is his point then his argument is with someone besides me.

But you have probs to determine when other people are.

Some of them, maybe. Maybe the people who knew where he was were bribed into keeping quiet.

Sometimes, yes. One thing I've learned at Poly over the years is to never be surprised by the idiocy of some of the posts.

And I'm saying that your assumption that they had consented or had any idea about the raid is actually contradicted by information already available.

Based on what past Pakistani actions exactly, anyway? The fact that they've been dragging their feet on cooperation with the U.S. for a decade?
