Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
Correct. It's about getting the muscle memory into your forearm so that the pistol is lined up exactly the way it needs to be as soon as its brought up, and learning the way it kicks so you can compensate in followup shots.
It's five yards because that's the typical range for home defense.
i hat to admit this but ..my prob is waiting for the recoil.
Don't know why but i tense before the shot and.........misss
Now multiply by two assailants, assume the guy is moving, it's nighttime, and that it takes 2-3 hits to reasonably stop somebody. 12 rounds sounds like the bare minimum to me.
Again, I was assuming he had the lights on. Shooting in the dark sounds like a...shot in the dark. I also figured that, unless the bullet just grazes the skin, a hit guy isn't going to Rambo it out and keep shooting. He'll be on the floor bleeding. Unless he's high on something, which I guess he'd have to be to risk his neck over some stranger's crap, so point taken.
I knew a guy who killed a burglar.
Really bothered him, but it was him or THEM.
make a long story short......
He had them at gun point waiting for the police..
The dead guy told the others that he was bluffing and would not shoot.
He jump at my friend and he found out the hard way.... he was not bluffing.
Krazy has it right. Just like you can't predict when they're going to break in, you can't predict how many of them there will be.
But if there's more than one or two, aren't you hosed anyway? At least, if they're all packing heat, and they all stick around to shoot back, and assuming they don't have shotguns. You've got three shots coming at you in the time you can fire one, they can hit from different angles, they can cover each other--not in the sense of SWAT coordination, but if one of them keeps shooting at you, are you going to pop out from cover to keep track of where they all are?

Walmart has good, cheap ammo, usually $12 a box if 9mm is your thing. Cabella's has specials that can approach that, with larger stocks, and also has bad, cheap ammo for $9 a box, if lacquered Russian factory rounds are your thing.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
