      The US is not going to stop giving Israel support. Israel remains extremely popular in the USA and in congress. Congress, despite Obama's dickery, remains overwhelmingly (greater than 2/3rds) in favor of israel.
      If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

        That's a big deal. A UN trade embargo on Israel would quickly destroy the country.

        Israel is backed into a corner right now. The only thing they can do is try to repair their image and repair their relationships with their allies. They need to change their policy in Gaza.

          The US is on the security council. If Obama decided to let the UN embargo israel he really can kiss 2012 goodbye.

              Why do you think the people voting for Obama care strongly about Israel, especially given the general view of the public these days that they are violent bullies?

              I think you grossly overstate how important Israel is to congressmen who get elected by pandering shamelessly to the prevailing public opinion, and how public opinion, even in the US, is not favourable of Israel at this moment.
