If Japan doesn't go after the DEI and Malaysia, they are out of oil and rubber for their war in China by mid 1942.

If they do, and bypass the Philippines, they leave a MAJOR US base along the LOC.

If that happens, the US builds up the Philippines into an absolute land, naval, and air fortress.

You migth think that I 'm an idiot because the germans couldn't deliver what was done on the allied invasion, but they aren't comparable. Compared to the invasion in normandy, an invasion of brittany would be much smaller.

Those were completely outdated ships built shortly after WWI, and they hardly did well in ASW. Actually several of them got torpedoed by subs. The best use was when one of them was packed with explosives and rammed into the large drydock of St.Nazaire during a British commando raid.
