Parents don't get the benefit of food they give their kids either, but we trust they'll feed their kids in almost all cases. Ignorance is a hell of a lot less damaging than malnutrition.

But in the past, a parent relied upon their kids to provide for them when they were old. This is no longer the case, now the government provides (and the parents own savings). Kids are very costly, and parents try to cut costs.
We see this over and over again. With more and more people not wanting kids. With smaller family sizes among those who pay for their kids (middle class/wealthy, the poor don't pay for their kids due to the government).
We can also see this where political choices now are chosen based on what provides benefit now even at a great cost later on (environment/deficit/etc).
It isn't balanced, and it isn't in the interested of the government to allow parents to decide.

instead of monetarily are the most selfish people in the world.
People who pursue the highest-paying career are to be lauded for their selflessness.
Personally, I think people should take the careers that make the best use of their talents. Thus, they will leave higher paying careers to those who are more capable.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

What a douchebaggery opening statement.
Most people pursue the career they are capable of. If they had the ambition of trying to move up they'd likely live a very stressful life. A few people can take that, sure enough, but most people - if they find themselves incapable - will choose not to pursue a tougher career."An archaeologist is the best husband a women can have; the older she gets, the more interested he is in her." - Agatha Christie

I pursue a career which fulfills me personally, is interesting to me personally, and pays well.
