The university is almost totally shut down. We ended up with 12-15 inches totally (eyeballing it).

The convenience store was out of eggs

The uni has shut down just because of a little snow? 15 inches is not nothing, but it's not that much either.

9.5 inches here in Columbus. No big deal. Didn't stop every paranoid mommy in the Central Ohio area from making an appointment to see me yesterday.

My part of Norway hasn't had this much snow for so long for years. Doesn't mean we lie on our backs and give up when the snow comes.

Snow isn't really a problem except when it's falling. Afterwards it's easy to deal with.

Sigh, I wanted snow. They are saying Wednesday now. I hope so.

Agree with Nikolai. Pussies. We got 40 inches in 24 hours last year.

I saw weird green flashes of light last night. My roommate also saw them. No noise, they came in bursts of two or three flashes every ten or so minutes. Is this some Northern Nonsense, like Aurora Borealis, or did we just have the exact same acid flashback at the exact same time.

Dan lives downtown, in a condo, he's just fine I'm sure. It gets trickier out here in the suburbs. I've been shoveling all weekend. But in order to have a successful Super Bowl party yesterday I made 4-5 trips on the roads. The roads aren't great, but are steadily improving. Just have to take it slow. Metro still not running up here, which will make it tough for me to get to work.

Bah, all my snow has been hitting south of me. MINE! GIVE IT BACK.

Hopefully this is rectified on Wednesday (we're supposed to get some snow, not clear on how much).

The trick isn't to break some eggs to make an omelette, it's convincing the eggs to break themselves in order to aspire to omelettehood.

I suffered without Internet or TV for TWO DAYS!!

                            It was unspeakably horrible.

10 to 20 more inches, says the National Weather Service. Supposed to be from mid-afternoon Tuesday through Wednesday.

Most of the bars and restaurants were open throughout the storm. I kept fed and toasty.

I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt.
