I agree. Big storms are great but I've yet to see one this year. We only have a couple inches of snow on the ground.

I would never have believed it, but the National Weather Service is reporting that an additional 14" were dumped on DC today. The highest snowfall ever recorded in DC and we're still in early February. There is a category 2 hurricane-equivalent sitting off the coast. And as bad as DC is, Baltimore and Philly were pounded twice as bad.
More coming on Monday, apparently.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Round three on Monday? Damn, I pity you folks.
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
We got a bit today. It was quite nice. The whole of winter should be like this.

****. I'm going from bmore to NYC on Monday by bus
Want to bet? You'll be sitting there waiting for a bus which will never come.
I'd try the Acela if I were you as trains normally make it through when other modes of transport don't. Though I did here that during Britain's recent bout of bad weather the modern trains all got stuck so they had to bring 19th century steam powered trains out of museums to make the routes. Supposedly the antique trains were better designed to deal with extreme snow.

We've been getting a lot of rain but no snow so far and the temp has been in the low 50's with highs in the low 70's. At least our drought seems to be over even if we're only getting a bit more then usual instead of the gobs of rain we need. In fact if global climate change brings us more el nino years then we may actually end up a greener place.
