2. I was digging the mirror motif that we were seeing in everyone's alternative reality, right up until it went a bit overboard towards the end in the lighthouse. A bit on the nose.

So what exactly did Jack see in the mirror before he went all nutty and took over the gears? I thought I saw the Temple, and then some other sort of structure that looked like a tower--the lighthouse itself?

I read that totally differently. She saw kids stuff in the bag, felt guilty for mugging a pregnant woman, and went back to assuage her own conscience. As for Claire, I read that as her always being a bit of a sweet, well-meaning, trusting dim-bulb.

I definitely didn't read it that way. The presence of the killer whale toy that Kate had given to Aaron in the other reality wasn't a coincidence and Evangeline Lilly talked in an interview about having to act as if she was remembering something unconsciously that she couldn't quite bring to the surface. I think we're totally supposed to think that Kate went back because she sensed she was connected to Claire somehow.

I'm pretty sure we saw the temple in Korea where Jin and Sun got married. It looks like Byodo-in in Uji, Japan, so it's pretty recognizable.

Well, if Kate sensed that she was connected to Claire, why wouldn't Claire sense the same thing about Kate? I agree that it wasn't handled well in the episode, but it's not completely unbelievable.

I guess Jacob is just stone giving up on Sayid, since he's still at the Temple. Not to mention Miles.

So is Sawyer waiting outside Claire's tent, or is he off doing Bizarro Locke's bidding like Renfield? Looks like Claire is a Smokey recruit, and Sayid likely will be, too. Jin and Miles are in deep ****ing ****.

Yeah Hurley's comment about the lighthouse really bothered me because it reminds me that they just make this crap up as they go along. And as always, Jacks alter existence was again boring, but more reasonable than Kate's.

I've always assumed it was candidate for protector of the Island. To keep smokey on the island.

And Jack having a kid that age was annoying. The only marriage ever mentioned for Jack was to the girl who he saved, Sarah, around 2002. That it was never mentioned that he was married before and had a kid is another of those, we'll make it up as we go along.
