God bless sexual equality and everything, but I have NEVER YET seen a female police officer on patrol do anything other than embarrass herself on camera whenever they show them on reality shows (Cops, etc)

This latest one pulls over a pair in a car for suspected DUI. She can't do ANYTHING other than wait for backup and point her gun at the driver, saying "keep your hands where I can see them" in a faltering, uncertain tone, over and over again. If he'd gotten out of the car and tried to hit her, her best chances would have been to either shoot him or hope that the Cops cameraman intervened.

12 other cops show up as backup to nab this pair that hasn't done anything more threatening than use some bad language. All because it's a woman making the stop instead of a man.



There have been a number of studies which show that female police officers are far more likely to have their guns taken from them, be seriously injured in physical altercations, resort to lethal force etc. Anecdotally, from watching these shows, the female officers are more hesitant, refuse to participate in physical takedowns, call for backup much more quickly, etc.

Male cops are generally bigger and stronger than the people they have to arrest. Female cops are basically outclassed by every suspect they come into contact with.

It's ****ing retarded. They don't let women in the US armed forces go into frontline combat (?) so why the **** do they let women go on patrol on city streets, where physical strength is a much larger component of what they do?

How dare you suggest letting little issues like job performance get in the way of ekwaliteeee!

a) I don't know the last time I saw a 140 lb male cop
b) I'd give the cop a decent chance against most 185 lb criminals. Meanwhile that 140 lb male is likely twice as strong as the average female cop

This is ridiculus after skimming the wikipedia article on gender diffrences there seems to be no mention of differences in average strenght or stamina. :wtf:

I think the most reasonable solution is to impose a fitness minimum for most cops. Only thos strong enough need apply, and eliminate any PC attemts to gendern balance the police force. It would reduce the number of women in the force while also ensuring that those that are in are at least physically as capable of doing their job as their male comrades.

I just happen to have a fetish for strong, independent, driven women in general, and achieving a position of authority and responsibility (e.g. cop, soldieress, boss, judge, etc.) just happens to overlap with those characteristics a great deal. It's not that complicated.

Hell, in my experience righties prefer submissive little rag dolls over whom they can assert their own authoritarian tendencies, not the other way around.

I agree that a physical test should be applied. Here in the fireman's test, applicants are required to lift and carry a large segment of hose a specified distance then climb a ladder with it. Many men fail this part of test and some women pass it.

I also know a few female police officers that can kick the snot out of their male counterparts. But there will always be the need for some SENSITIVE female officers but they should be allowed doing field work unless they've passed a strength type test.
