Just Got Laid Off... again

I've heard nothing from the Fresno area interview for the last week, when they told me that they were still trying to figure out how I would fit into the company. I will call tomorrow.

Chicago is still up in the air too. Apparently the hiring manager took off for vacation without leaving any feedback.

Phily seems to be a dead end, haven't heard a peep.

Had a good phone interview today with a local (Cincinnati) drug company. I was told that next week they would contact me about coming in to visit.

Headed to Raleigh, NC next week as well for an interview there. Any advice on that area?

We are fairly fortunate in that our state (not Ralieg specific) has a huge military based here.

I did get 2 job leads this week, both look promising. 1 local and 1 in Spokane WA. The local one would be nice for obvious reasons, but the job isn't really what I would want (or so I think). The Spokane one would be perfect, but I screwed up my first impression; wrong email on my cover letter. They hiring manager spent 2 weeks tracking me down though, so that means he likes my resume.

Spokane is in Washington. That's the only good thing I can say about it.

Venom is in Raleigh... hmmm, that changes my perspective of the city somewhat

I have a bunch of family down there. The Research Triangle area is developed & cosmopolitan (or reasonably so). You can find bagels, Chinese food, etc. That stuff was rare in the early 90s. I remember sending care packages of italian meats & cheeses and such to my grandfather. He was like the one Eye-Talian in his area at the time.

The area has been developing really fast for years, which is good and bad. Traffic can get as bad as up here in NE, if not worse at times.

The summer heat is brutal, but of course I'm a Yankee. I was down there in May and it was already pushing 90 for the high. Hideous.

Well, the local company that told me that they wanted me to come in to meet everyone changed their minds, or so the recruiter told me. Odd, but I wasn't sure how comfortable I was with them. Still, it sucks to be rejected, as Venom can attest to. I'll get over it

Finally got my directions to arrange travel out to Raleigh next week. At least that is something.

Just had a pretty good interview with a company up in Buffalo (brrr). Still, the opportunity itself looks good.

I was just offered the Fresno job, with a decent salary. I told them I'd think on it.

The Raleigh job interview went well, but they won't tell me on way or the other for several weeks, and the Fresno job is here and now. So, I'll probably take it.

Moving sucks.
