For the love of God, someone ban him before he causes someone's head to explode.

    • What does that have to do with it?
      Everything to do with it.

You just happened to touch on a very relevant issue up here in BC. Difference between us and you wrt to the native peoples.

You argument was based on who was there first, not who declared war on whom.
My argument is that unless you somehow lose jurisdiction (ie, through war), the fact that they were there before the DoC is significant.

That is why the native peoples in the US do not have jurisdiction, which is why they do up here. But then, you already knew that.

          What makes you say this?

Look at Matthew 19, Christ gives the ideal of marriage.

Everything else is sinful and a corruption of what God desires for marriage.
That only advocates traditional marriage, which no one here claims is a sin.

And rejects gay marriage, which was the point of the quote.

It's no different than the centurion, which is, in itself, a controversial topic.

Paul talks a bit more about this, where people are to keep the station of their life that they find themselves in and preach the Gospel. But he calls them all to repent from sin, and to make it clear where they stand.

I'm not arguing that gay marriage isn't a sin. You've got an implication there at best. That's not making your point at all.

                    Why? What are the scriptures?

Nevertheless, each one should retain the place in life that the Lord assigned to him and to which God has called him. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches. Was a man already circumcised when he was called? He should not become uncircumcised. Was a man uncircumcised when he was called? He should not be circumcised. Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God's commands is what counts. Each one should remain in the situation which he was in when God called him. Were you a slave when you were called? Don't let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord's freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ's slave. You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to.

There are specifics given there for a reason. Are you saying that he intended us not to change occupations?

No, not at all. I'm saying one is not compelled to change occupations.

They certainly are if that occupation is to sin. So are you saying that a whore doesn't have to change occupations?

                                You'll have to explain that.
