Apolyton is hosted on a VPS with 16GB RAM, 6 cores, 320GB SSD. However so are several other websites, some of which get pretty intense traffic at times. And the Apolyton database is bloated beyond belief, that may have something to do with it.Comment

The VPS is on shared hardware. Not sure if the problem is something I can fix without moving to a new host. I’ve blocked most of the bots but only helps a little... the bad ones are constantly changing their footprints. But not really enough hits from them to account for how slow things are.Comment
