So the puritans such as Japher who are posting in here are upset that gays are generally more relaxed about sexuality in general compared to a lot of straight people?

So there are people at gay pride events who go all-out in having fun. That's one of the points of going to a gay pride event - to have fun and let loose for a day.

And from my experiences, it always seems the majority of gays and lesbians at pride events do not go to the more outrageous excesses that the puritans in this thread are hinting at.

Most gays and lesbians have fun, but not to the extent of public orgies or anything else like that - that's a minority within the minority.

I take it you've never been to Gary, Indiana. No sane person advocates going to Gary. Driving thru it is barely tolerable.

I had several close friends that would have felt home in a gay pride parade/festival.

When people go insulting someone becasue they are gay, it is to me because someone is insecure.

To me I have never been able to understand how someone has been afflicted with persecution, such as someone who was singled out negatively for a lifestyle choice, turns and insults and berates someone for a choice they make?

Years ago, while visiting a watering hole, met an obnoxious person of the gay persuasion, attacked me for who I was.

I wanted to ask them why they teated me wrong when I had done nothing other than be a confessed straight person, and the owner of the club who I was friends with, took me aside, and told me, being gay doesnt mean your not human, gays can be mean and hurtful, while on other hand wanting people to not abuse them for their lifestyle choice.

I have defended gay people and see them as being sweet and beautiful, not outside only but inwards.

Same for many other people.

This is sad we cant all get along, but alas the world goes round and round.

It bother me to some extent when I read on here or other forums, bashing Christians for thier beliefs.

I know Christians can be bad at time with judgmentalism, but not all Christians bash or thump or hate, just as not all gay people are hurtful, just a human trait I reckon, to strike out at what some dont understand, "cookie cutter" response to all who confess their lifestyle.

Funny thing is, if you knew me in person, you wouldnt say as many bad things, becasue I am a likeable guy, get along with many people, stick up for the plight of those who cant defend themselves.

I joke, sometimes mistaken humor, never meant as hateful or harmful.

I wonder if people who are iggnorant are those that strike out?

I think everyone should be treated the same. I'd be arrested if I paraded naked down the streets of town, but oh, wait, if I did it during pride, it would be a-ok.

If you want to parade, do it on your dime, clean up after yourselves, and don't expose yourselves to passerby.

That goes for Mardi Gras as well. How many actually bother to go to Ash Wednesday?

and I've never seen anybody totally naked at a gay pride parade. Or at least it's rarer than seeing someone totally naked on spring break.
