First day in a few I've felt up to snuff, had a bug. Hmm, that's an odd saying, anyone know why someone would feel 'up to snuff'? Anyway, went to Zkrib's and took some pics which are coming soon.

From the inner seawall, steps to the left. There will be one more step which will make 15.
Getting ready for the facing they need to fill in between the tie beam and where the pour of the facing will occur. Rigo and Bia were also mixing cement which is the reason for the headgear.
The water used to clean out the mixer is poured on the face to prepare the surface.

The area that will get the most spray over the wall is directly inland from the stairs. (But given the proximity to the basketball court's rocks, it probably will avoid most of the problems.)
Watching the surf at Lance's seawall, the spray that comes over the wall mostly originates from where the waves hit the seaward side of the steps. When the waves hit the wall, they are underneath the overhang... and unless you have a very high wind to help redirect the trajectory of the spray, there's no way it can get around the overhang. The spray from the steps on the other hand originates a few feet further out from the wall, which is why it's trajectory allows it to go over the wall rather than being directed into the curve of the overhang and back out seaward.

These guys, Bia and Rigo, have the toughest, dirtiest job on site. Iking's other son, Elvin, is getting involved with working on the mixer as well though he isn't pictured. He's evolved his job from working with the other end, filling buckets etc to learning what's involved with feeding the thing. Rigo is really up on the correct mix and making sure its right every time.
So the section was filled...
and finished...

There is already some slant...

Thanks for the great pix! It's good to see Rigo up on his feet again.
IIRC, there's going to be some steel reinforcing going in before the concrete facing. Right?
You're obviously not worried about your chemical intake

Yes on the steel, a grid of metal bar goes into the facing, very strong.
Ha! Just realized that is Elvin helping Rigo. Must be because Bia has the rust colored shirt. Can be tough to tell when they've got their faces covered.Long time member @ Apolyton
