Doubled post frames take shape.



Base is roughly a meter x meter on this post, and deep.

The largest post bases I've seen on a house combined with post frames that have impressed all. No dickin round here, this is serious stuff.

Made, rustproofed, the rings are installed on the upright metal...

...which is also rustproofed and then a 90 degree bend made near the base. The guy on the far side is an interested observer.

From the far end. All the gravel that was excavated out from the trench for the wall has now been transfered to behind the wall. Sho informed me this morning that limestone from the quarry will be needed to bring it all up to grade. Its lousy stuff to plant in though... The alternative is to put limestone under the house but wait for a road widening project if good growing material is needed. Or, could do what we did at our place, use a top layer of gravel a few inches thick over the limestone.



The piggery is still there with 2 small pigs which were there when we started. They aren't in the way and the owner wants to leave them until Juneish unless they are in the way or we build the circumference wall. I told them ok in the interests of good relations but that the final word on the subject was not mine.
