  • It sounds like you're employing half the island on this project.

    • Nah, it only seems like half the island 'cause its Lancer's in-laws.

Lancer -- When you get the chance, can you ask the postman what my street address is. Thanx.

        • When I go to your place later I'll take some pics of the person door through my circumference wall. Did I show it to you? I designed a dutch door with a small viewing port and it has the mail delivery box built right on it. You'll need a door also and can whip one up on graph paper if you want, plus you'll need to pick its location. Wherever it is it needs a post both sides.

Right now the circumference wall is waiting on other stuff to get done incl the limestone delivery to raise the property level. Once that's done the pace on the circumference wall will pick up.

Once the circumference wall spaces are made we get the guy that did my doors to do your person door and vehicle door. So it will be a while, but not too long. Its nice to get your walls up because all of a sudden the only people on your property are those that you've invited. Once the posts are poured the limestone goes in. Then the circumference wall goes up.

So I'll get you some pics, and you can think a bit about the person door.

          • Ha! The blues are theoreticly done. Tito called and said he's got it on disk and will make copies and then bring it over here so we can email it to you, his cpu is broken.

Also, someone wants to buy our rice field in Dimiao! Maybe (hopefully) just for what we paid for it but its too far away for our needs.

That would be good, a little jingle before fiesta always helps.

Fiesta is May 1 Zkrib, be there pal!

            • I wonder if Tito ever got all the changes I e-mailed him. Take a quick glance at the hallways. If they're 1.5 meters wide and not 1 meter; if each flight of steps is 1/5 meters and not 2 meters; if the refrigerator is on the left side of the kitchen and not in the center; then Tito is still using to old plans.

I was thinking about the vehicle gate somewhere by the laundry room but the individual gate down by the stream somewhere. That way, if someone inside by the stream wants to head off down the road that way, they don't have to cross the width of the property, go out the gate and then almost double back. Is this doable? (Or maybe two individual gates, one on each end.)

BTW: For those who haven't been privy to the PMs flying back and forth, I've decided to RETIRE in April and head over to the Phils. I'll be staying at Lancer's house in Jagna until my place is finished.

The fella, Tayo, bending the metal has a piece of pipe in his hand which he fits ove the metal for added leverage, as well as a jig which is nails set in wood to form the bend patern.

Plans haven't arrived yet but I'd be shocked if the changes were included. I'd guess he's just trying to make the gov types happy by giving them some paper to play with then work everything in when the permit arrives.

Two person doors, one at either end, is very doable, good idea.

Your room is waiting for you.

                  • Zkrib, got an idea to run by you and let me know if you like it so I can implement.

The workers finish the lower posts and ground level tie beams, fill the property with limestone if that's ok, build the circumference wall and get the doors for it ordered to your liking (dutch door pics will be tomorrow) and that ought to keep them busy until you get here. If its not enough they can pour the first floor, (which is a monster job) but with all this to keep them busy until you arrive none of the important details like stairs, hallway, and kitchen will be started and therefore no one (ahem) will have a chance to screw them up. Also, the property will be private with the wall up.

So the idea is to avoid any important details until you get here. You like?

                          Oh yeah!

I'd like to have a front lawn or gardens or something like that. Will the limestone prevent to growing of grass or small bushes? Should we send the guys out looking for dirt?

                              • I'll have him put limestone only under the house for now, it seems to work well there. Meanwhile we'll check into availability of dirt from a widening project for the yard.
