Yes, there is unfortunately an element of this. Although, many opponents of Israel would not consider themselves as anti-Jewish, and certainly feel aggrieved when it is suggested that they are. However, their views are influenced by a one-sided view of the conflict. OTOH, some genuine anti-semites play up the conflict, and the one-eyed interpretation of it, to generate support for the destruction of Israel.

My view is that both anti-Israeli and anti-Serbian sentiments are both predominantly the products of similar propaganda campaigns of demonisation. In one case though, the side of bin Laden, Iran and Jihad is joined by the leaders of the west. I don't really want to get into a row about that here though.

          • I hate to say it but DinoDoc is right. Deportation, like what happened to the Germans in the east & in Sudetenland after WW2, is the long term solution.

            Oerdin is right!?

U.S. and Afghan soldiers in Zabul Province give high marks to the Lithuanian Special Forces, who like to ride these captured Taliban motorbikes to sneak up on, and chase Taliban fighters. The “LithSof” are on their way to becoming living legends: Both Afghans and Americans report that the Taliban are afraid of the Lithuanians. Stories about them are filled with dangerous escapades and humor.

Americans say that the Lithuanians are sort of a weaponized version of Borat, who think nothing of sauntering around a base in nothing but flip-flops and underwear. “They look like mountain men. They never shave, sometimes don’t bathe, and often roll out the gate wearing nothing but body armor and weapons. Not even a t-shirt,” an American soldier told me. The Lithuanians may be a little bit nuts, but the Americans love to have them around because Lithuanians love to fight, and when you need backup, you can count on them. That contrasts starkly with many of the NATO “partners.” Maybe when your country spends almost a half-century with the Soviet boot on its neck, its first generation of free soldiers know what freedom is worth — and that you sometimes have to fight for it.

                  • I just read Israel has been preparing the ongoing raid for about 1,5 years. They have a scale model of Gaza in one of their bases. In a way, Israeli units know every street and target they are supposed to clear. Let's see how the ground offensive pans out then; I readily believe they've pulled off the stunt with the Gaza replica.

                      • You're the jerkoff who won't even consider the obvious solution (removal of Palestinians from the occupied territories) because it's considered bad in the black and white world of international law.

TCO is right: Unless you are Dutch, in the Anglosphere, or possibly French, you are a ****ing worthless member of NATO. 3,000 German troops sitting in their barracks in Kabul doing nothing does not constitute a "contribution".

The Arabs are never going to give up their dream of a new Saladin showing up and driving out the nonMuslims so they have to suffer so that they aren't so quick to start future wars. Worked with the Germans and it would work with the Palestinians.
How do you plan on doing that? Where will you take the Palestinians? Nobody will have them. Unlike the Germans in Sudetenland, Pals don't have a homeland elsewhere.

Also you'll need a full-blown invasion and occupation. Israel doesn't have the manpower to control and deport a population nearly as large as their own.

The idea sounds like the easy and inevitable solution. So... I sure want to see you pull it off. Just remember you'll encounter a good number of unparallelled probs along the way
