Have you ever, ever admitted at least once in your life that you were wrong in an argument and give the other guy a thumbs up when he has clearly made good points??

In this thread, you just kept going and going and all it led you into was a deeper hole.
I'm not wrong. I proved that with evidence. Go **** off *******. This place is so ****ing pitifull.

    • Google hits on "strong democracy" and "weak democracy" are evidence that these are commonly used-nomenclatures as you initially described?

Let Wikipedia guide you. If these terms were really uses as you claimed, there'd be independent entries for them. Kinda like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weak_atheism

A brief perusal of the Google hits shows there is NOTHING comparable to that kind of explanation for "Strong" and "Weak" Democracies. You simply made that **** up.

So you think that I wrote all of the articles that you find when you google "strong democracy?" Did you just get hit on the head or something?

        • Here's one from the Association of California School Administrators. I take it you think I made up the term and I posted this article on that website dispite how the other administrators will ridicule me for making up terms.

This sort of thing makes sense to you? Give me a ****ing break!

The articles don't use the term "strong democracy" as you were referring. The hits are coincidental, not supportive.

So what I really think is that you're so dumb that you really think that Google hits on "strong democracy" supports your claims.

EDIT: And then you go ahead and hilariously prove my point. Thanks!

              • Here's one regarding IT that supports my point. I could go on with this **** all night.

"Techno-optimists advocate the application of information technology to the rulemaking process as a means of advancing strong democracy - that is, direct, broad-based citizen involvement in regulatory policy making."

                • What are you arguing about?

Are you really arguing about the semantics of the word "strong-democracy" ?

The claim is that I made the term up. I'm so sick of this crap!

But everyone knows that strong democracy means a democracy with totalitarian trait! Everyone knows that... Who are you, the word creator?

                      ...

Good for you. I'm going to take a break from this place for awhile at least. Hell, I'll probably be banned after Ming sees this thread. Seriously though, there are quite a bit of idiots that are really getting on my nerves.

                        • But I care about it:
Techno-optimists advocate the application of information technology to the rulemaking process as a means of advancing strong democracy - that is, direct, broad-based citizen involvement in regulatory policy making.
Democracy is not inherently good per se, democracy means also; variability, the need to seduce a majority of people, lobbyism, etc. Traditionally we said that democracy leads to despotism. That's the reason why I'm not really a techno-optimist. I don't put too much faith in people.

And it also means to give power to the humor and the sentiment of a mass of people. I don't know the subject very much, but I imagine, a direct vote, on every subject via IT technology, wouldn't be something good. Since, people mostly based their actions on their emotions and feeling. Which I can see some good thing, but it's also a very bad thing.

                          Edit:
Direct democracy is not a better word than Strong Democracy?

Stop trying to pretend you're KH. You can't even remotely begin to pull it off.

That article is about kids learning civics. If THAT is how you're trying to define "strong democracy," then snoopy is spot-on that it's a meaningless weasel term. Appropriate to be used my meaningless weasels.

Lobbyists aren't very good at seducing people (see the tobacco lobbyists). They are good at blocking legislation though, which is undemocratic (inherently bad) usually when they are able to do so.

People can be stupid that's for sure. I'm saying that the term "democratic" (adj.) means that people are smart and just. If people who have power in society are stupid and unjust then that society is "undemocratic." I've already posted dictionary and wiki definitions to support that this is the current meaning of the word.

And you think people in power of a totalitarian government don't use their emotions to make decisions for society?

The argument is over whether it's commonly used or not. Since you didn't even know that, kindly leave.
