Asleepathewheel, she supports birth control for married people but doesn't want students taught how to use it. Gee... Like that helps.

I know McCain's PR guys are on every TV show claiming McCain knew about this all along but come on! It's obvious he didn't and that he didn't do much vetting at all.

        You're dreaming.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Yes, it would be far easier if she was utterly against contraception rather than the positions she's taken.

On the one hand, I could see wanting to do that truly FOR family reasons; on the other, I can't see how McCain could win if his first VP choice backs out. If so, who would he tap to replace her? Given how smooth things appear to be going so far in LA, I'd think Jindal would be in the mix.
Eagleton v2? I'm thinking not at this point, I agree with Imran, beating up on a woman for having a pregnant teen is not going to go over too well.

She's pregnant at 17 and not married... I don't really see the problem to be honest.

But I can see why she was so early: http://gov.state.ak.us/photos/PalinF...utside_v01.jpg She has big... eyes.

I can't stand that fake smile and that fake tan they all seem to have. Bunch of proud nitwits. I feel a little sorry for the small girl down stairs, but she looks like she has an evil twitch in her. Good, I like that.

As for the middle girl, well.. is she single?

Yes, the whole thing is she's a nutcase. She might drop out. I'd have to say let's hope so, because I seriously think that she would be a disaster as a president.

Because her mom is running on a party and a platform with strong ties to "family values"? Hypocrisy is kind of a big deal.

I asked if anyone thought that might happen. I don't; I was just speculating on the possibility.

I don't see a problem there... she might not be good at conveying family values, but that's not hypocritical. Hypocritical would be having an abortion instead of a child with Down's Syndrome, or having her daughter have a hush-hush abortion.

I don't know what family values Palin has, but I don't think this should be taken so seriously.

My mother had me at 17, unmarried. I don't remember the world ending or God smiting anyone.

Had a good childhood too. Young parents are more fun.

Basically she's said married people can use it but no one else. It's a distinction with no difference and will result in more ignorant people having unprotected sex.
