  • Btw, looks like Firefox 3 has fixed the problems I was mentioning earlier.

    No it hasn't.

You have yet to say a single true thing in this thread.
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

    • How the hell do you know? I ran a test lastnight, did you? Probably not; why? Because you only use Firefox, and if you built websites, you would only do it in CSS, on top of that, you don't even know what half the problems are.

They're not problems. If a webpage renders in standards mode, **** like this:
        < hr color=#CCCCCC size=1 >

won't work. Firefox 3 expanded its "quirks" mode to maintain compatibility with some IE quirks, but this is not a supported feature nor is it even really proper. It's just a necessary evil until people like you get fired and leave the business.

In fact, on Bugzilla there was massive debate whether these kinds of quirks implementations should be removed completely explicitly to prevent people like you from keeping to use them. In the end they decided to ship with them, because the users shouldn't have to suffer because you can't do your job.

We're not talking about standards here, we're talking about opinions. In my opinion, simple lines like that SHOULD be supported because SOMETIMES its USEFUL. You may not know this, because you've never had to do anything that uses it.

I have. I had my first paid web design job within about a month of Mosaic being released on Unix, worked professionally in the area for quite some time, and still do it as necessary for my research. What you're talking about is only useful these days if you don't know how to do it right.

I "know" why you find it useful, and that is because you are terrible at what you do. That doesn't make it right or acceptable or even something that should be supported.

                    • It's ironic you find what I do terrible, even though I use CSS, which according to you, is standard.

Or are you saying my quick use of using "quirky code" during meetings is terrible? If so, I would disagree with you, and you wouldn't be able to agree with me, because you have never attended my meetings.

                      • WTF kind of "meetings" do you have whereby you need to make colored horizontal rules on the spot?

                        You're so ****ing crazy.
