Foreign policy alone, that ranks him behind only Wilson and FDR. Eisenhower had a stalemate in Korea, and Nixon had defeat in Vietnam. Wilson's defeat of the Kaiserreich and establishing the League of Nations was huge.

Eisenhower got us out of Korea (as he promised us he'd do). He also prevented any attempts to "hotten" the situation and presided over an era of relative peace. He was basically the grown up of the Cold War.

As for Nixon, he inherited Vietnam, and in a masterstroke, he acknowledged the PRC, which caused a lot of fun fighting between the USSR and PRC against each other. It also allowed the US to stop the moronic idea to not recognize one of the largest countries on Earth.

    7. Passed the Bush tax cuts.

    8. Ban on embryonic stem cell research.

    9. Ban on overseas funding of coercive abortions.

    10. Pass no child left behind.

    11. Created health savings accounts.

    12. Appointed Sam Alito and John Roberts.

It makes perfect sense to count events over a decade before his term as part of his record as president.

Not really. 9/11 could very well have been prevented had the Bush administration paid more attention to the outgoing Clinton administration.

            2. Toppled the Taliban in Afghanistan and installed a democratic government (first ever).

I'll agree with you there. Unfortunately, before the job was finished, off we went to Iraq.

            3. Captured Saddam Hussein.

Sure, no one liked Hussein (not anymore, anyway) but consider the cost of capturing Hussein. We are no longer fully committed to the search for OBL, or our mission in Afghanistan, or dealing with North Korea/Iran, or other areas of terrorism.

            4. Freed the Kurds from genocide in Iraq, and gave them regional autonomy.

Again, a good thing, although we really FUBARed the situation in the past and present.

            5. Established a democratic government in Iraq.

The groundwork may be there, but the government is still a mess.

            .................................................. ................................

            6. Passed the FTA with Canada, lowering softwood lumber tariffs.

Surely an accomplishment that will vaunt him to the Top 10.

            7. Passed the Bush tax cuts.

            8. Ban on embryonic stem cell research.

These support the argument AGAINST Bush...

            9. Ban on overseas funding of coercive abortions.

I don't really know the details on this one.

            10. Pass no child left behind.

Again, this is a mess, certainly not worth shouting from the rooftops about.

            11. Created health savings accounts.

            12. Born Alive act.

Born Alive is something I won't argue against. Health savings accounts, again, are a mixed bag.

            13. Appointed Sam Alito and John Roberts.
            Big whoop.

And 9/11 could have been prevented if Clinton took time off from getting a bj and went after Bin Laden instead of just tossing cruise missiles at his tents.

These support the argument AGAINST Bush...
Bush tax cuts were a good thing. The government spending was not.

As for the stem cell funding, it is an unproven tech, that the government should not be funding anyways. There are better and more ethical methods.

You can't give Bush credit for the Cub's success. He was the guy who controlled the Texas Rangers, not the Cubs. And the Rangers are in the American League, for cryin' out loud.

The Rangers are one of the least successful teams in Major League history, being one of four teams to have never played in a World Series, having never won a league championship. They are also one of only two franchises to have never won a playoff series since the franchise's inception in 1961.

                  Bush = Master of Disaster.

Why do people confuse "something I don't like" with "it's the most horrible thing in the world"? Is it the 'liberal' education styles in our schools today? Or is it the flouride in the water supply shrinking brains?

Guess we wont know for another 20 years.

Just because Bush has done things you dislike, It hardly has an effect on his presidential ability. I doubt he'll get his head on rushmore, but will be remebered as a decent president, unlike slick willy and Carter. Hell Truman was the most hated pres of last century while he was in office. But now is remembered fondly.

Edit add on: I want you to stop and think about something... During slick willies term (and Imediatly after) we had 2 major foriegn terrorist attacks in the US, and one domestic. Since then we have invaded and occupied 2 islamic nations, and no further attacks have occured (on our soil). Coincidence? possibly. Most likely, its the big stick syndrome. You blow somethin up here, we invade your fridge and eat your food.

You are nuts if you think he'll be remembered as better than Clinton. It isn't "something we don't like" (but it may apply here for you), but the fact he hasn't done anything worthwile during his Presidency and may have gotten us stuck in a quagmire.

And ****, I was President of the Rutgers College REPUBLICANS when he was elected and now I can't stand the *******.

Way to cordon off the argument there.

And how does the domestic terrorist get scared off by us invading two countries in Asia?

You're forgetting about the shooting at L.A.X. and another at a Jewish school out in the San Fernado Valley.

But in a larger sense, you're right. Since 9/11, we've terrorized Muslims a lot more than they've terrorized us.
