  • Will your country recognize Kosovo? Do you want your country to recognize Kosovo?

Countries which will recognize Kosovo : United States, Germany, basically those who did the bombing + muslim countries + ex yugoslav countries who love stabbing serbia in the back whenever they can

Countries which will not recognize Kosovo : Serbia, Russia, China, Spain, Argentina, Greek Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Greece.
India and Brazil probably wont. Israel will wait.

I am a bolivian who lives in Argentina, I dont know what Bolivia will do, probably not recognize Kosovo, because Bolivia is in danger of territorial disintegration, and because Morales will surely do the opposite of what the USA has decided to do.

I agree with not recognizing Kosovo.

Kosovo can't survive as a country and will end up being a defacto protectorate of the EU. There are just 2 million people in the whole place and it is dirt poor even by eastern European standards.

The best possible solution is partition along ethnic lines between Serbia and Albania.

Canada will likely wait until our government figures out what would be more politically popular and help them win an election.

Will there be a million and one grubby little two-inch "republics" in the north Balkans who hate each other, or only a million? This momentous question is almost as significant as the time Baskin-Robbins was confronted with choosing their thirty-first flavor. The question is given even more urgency by the possibility that Russia may respond violently, causing two people and five goats to die and forcing the EU to use harsh language in a resolution against them.

Hey two million is plenty if you're rich!

But I see your point, they aren't.

My country has recognized Kosovo & I agree.

Kosovo is 90% ethnic Albanians, who feel oppressed by the Serbian minority (backed by the Serbian army). I don't see reconciliation as being possible. The only other option is independence.

A note: Kosovo had a substantial Serbian majority just after WWI.

I wonder will we in 80 years time be talking of wether to free Londinistan where Pakistanies will be feeling oppresed by the Briton minority?

Most of the Serbs who left Kosovo prior to around 1998 did so willingly. They left because it was the poorest & least developed yet most over populated part of the country. Most of them left for other parts of Yugoslavia in order to find jobs and improve their standard of living. Serbs could easily move to Belgrade to find work but an ethnic Albanian couldn't or at least not easily. Add on the fact that Albanians tend to have very, very large families which they start having at very young ages and you see why the demographics switched so quickly. One side has a low birthrate combined with a high immigration rate while the other has a much higher birthrate and no one leaves.
