Yes, we elect First Nations members. One actually prevented Constitutional reform a few years back.

Blaming the US is like getting mad at the fire man for knocking over a vase as he puts out the fire in your house. Kosovo was a problem created by Serbia just like the entire disintegration of Yugoslavia and series of civil wars falls squarely on Serbia's lap. The wars in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, and finally Kosovo were really all just one slow motion war caused by Serbian nationalists.

The rest of the world did its best to close their eyes and pretend those wars weren't happening but by the fourth one it was perfectly clear no one could continue pretending. Kosovo's independence was assured the day Slobo started reprisal attacks on all ethnic Albanians instead of just the UCK. Given that the desire for independence has been some where extremely close to 90% since 2000 I am honestly amazed the US & EU was able to delay the Kosovo Albanians for 8-9 years. During that whole time though we all knew exactly how the end state was going to look.
