And he's right too. Legalized bribery is the single most corrupting influence in American politics in history.

          • I did on a matter of principle. Restricting politicians and legally requiring them to fund things like roads is actually smart in the long run because the alternative is having politicians continually shorting them and then endlessly demanding more money.

I like to cut that game off at the pass. Legally lock them in to a course of action so that they can't play games. Politicians with limited choices have limited chances to screw things up.

Thats nice, but the changes Prop 91 made are already included Proposition 1A, which was passed in 2006.

                • I'm against 92 because it only cuts fees for people who can afford college - those who can't afford it get financial aid, so lowering fees won't help poor students at all.
Uhh, I don't know if you have ever been on student loans, but those have to be paid back.

I am against lowering the fees as you are but for an entirely different reason. At least up here, lowering fees will result in a lowered quality of education.

What's the point of getting a degree if at the end of it you are 30k in debt rather then 40k and you are asking if you want fries with that sociology degree.

I voted under the assumption that the ~$70 million in lost revenue will come from the increased Indian gaming revenue. And this is funding for community college, the associates degree is worthless anyways.

                    • Obama wins GA in a landslide 35% margin according to a CNN exit poll. 86% of the black vote, 43% of the white vote, 65% of women.

This is a state everyone expected Obama to win, but not by this kind of absurd margin.

                      • GA was supposed to be an indicator state for him. This is IMHO good news.

NY/NJ were supposed to be indicators for Hillary. Have we heard from them yet?

Loans are only one part of the aid equation. Many poor students receive state fee waivers and other assistance. The last thing we need is to strip money out of the budget, especially the education budget, to give money back to middle and upper class students that don't need it anyway. If the goal is to give poor students a break, there are far better ways to do it than a blanket fee reduction for everyone.

I don't believe any money is specifically set aside or guaranteed for schools.

If the (or an) anti-christ is at all how the evangelicals portray him then Obama I think is the least likely to be the (an) anti-chist of all the frontrunners.

It's not, but the education money comes from the General Fund, which is where the Casino Money goes.
