It's a required course because it looks nice in theory.

I'll note the compsci students aced it, the philosophy students struggled. I particularly remember the philosophy student arguing with the prof, believing De Morgan's law was invalid...

Medicine is a cornerstone of civilisation that brings hope to billions. Mathematics is ****ing with numbers.

Physics is overrated, as well. How much taxpayer money is wasted so jagoffs like KH can search for the Higgs boson, element 114 or any number of other things that will offer little to no benefit to society if found?

Just wait til you find out that element 114 is the secret to a never-drying, never-sticky personal lubricant.

That's impossible. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY who can reason like a real philosopher would EVER argue that. De Morgan's law is stuff you learn in school.

                    Medicine/Nursing

They get my top respect. It takes 4 years of specialised training, and they spend their careers helping people. I could not do one iota of their job.

Physics, backbone of the physical sciences
                    Chemistry, close behind physics
Maths, what you use to help you do physics andchem
Engineering, applying physics to the real world.

Theology, as a discipline, it is up here, as a discipline taught in university, I would have my lowest respect, they do a terrible job of teaching the subject.

                    History,
                    Philosophy
                    Literature
                    Economics

These form the basics of a proper education. I haven't taken enough economics and would love to learn more.

                    Law
                    Compsci
                    Biology

I'm neutral on all three of these. Biology would be higher, but they have a long way to go before they are the same as chem and physics in terms of having a law to describe how and why creatures operate the way that they do.

                    Psychology
                    Sociology

I've taken Psychology, it was ok, but much of it is jargon and not real science. Sociology is just a joke.

I have one of those once in while. Feel my pain.

If you learned nothing, its a badly designed course. If possible, they should probably tailor a logic course specifically for compsci students.

It comes in handy in other disciplines.

Way too much. I honestly can't believe that they ponied up the money for the LHC.

Out of the ones listed, the only ones which pose true intellectual challenges are mathematics, physics and compsci.

Maybe some parts of econ too.

The rest are basically just technical disciplines.
