Sorry to hear about your unemployed circumstances. I think Jrabbit, et al., have offered some pretty good advice. FWIW, here's my two bits:
1. Take a vacation. Two weeks, maybe three or even four.
2. Afterward, begin polishing your resume, contacts and whatnot.
3. At the same time, apply for "menial" part-time work. This will give you a limited stream of income, thereby cushioning your landing (and ensuring you don't drain your savings as fast).
4. Begin looking for full-time employment. This is where working PT gives you an advantage — not only do you have *some* income, but you also have free time in which to find FT employment.
5. Last, but not least, good luck!

I feel for you, Dis. I found myself in the same boat a little over two years ago. I had a pretty big screwup, but the unanimous sentiment from those in the industry that I talked to (friends and relatives) was that it's one that everybody in that position makes once, and not something you get fired for unless it happens again.
Along the lines of what Jrabbit said, a lawsuit against a former employer won't give any future employers warm, fuzzy feelings. The best thing to do is take this opportunity to collect yourself and look at your options. I went from being an estimator at a demolition/construction company to being a law student.
Also, I'd suggest finding something to keep yourself busy with. Sleeping until noon and not showering until evening will just exacerbate that "I'm a worthless ****" part of your reaction to the firing. At least it did for me. A friend of mine has a hotshot-type delivery business, so I called him up within 15 minutes of leaving my former office to tell him I was available if he needed another driver. Some volunteer work in the wake of this would have to look good to your next prospective employer, too.

If you genuinely did nothing to get fired, look into wrongful dismissal suits. Use your time off to look up state laws and see what you got.
Unfortunately here in Nevada, I believe employers can fire you for any or no reason at all, as long as their reasons don't run afoul of anti-discrimination laws.

Dis, sorry to hear this. I must be tough on you mentally. But look at it like this.. the next job you'll get, chances are, you'll be looking back to this day and thinking how lucky you were to get fired. Maybe you'll get something better, so this isn't necessarily negative, this can be an improvement.

Sorry to hear about this Dis. Surely you can't just get fired...
What about written warnings etc - can they really just can your ass outta the blue like that!?
Way to expose the pathetic labour laws in the US, from reading this thread it seems you guys work in some kind of victorian workhouse past - the Industrial Revolution was a couple of hundred years ago you know...
In the majority of states, employees not working under an employment contract are deemed to be "at will." At-will employees may be terminated for any reason, so long as it's not illegal. There are numerous illegal reasons for termination. Generally, employees who work under an employment contract can only be terminated for reasons specified in the contract.
Nevada is an "employment at will" state. This means that an employer can fire whoever they want, when they want, for whatever reason they want, with limited exceptions, as long as it is not for a discriminatory purpose. The two main exceptions are when an employee is covered by a collective bargaining agreement or have a written contract for employment. It is illegal for an employer to retaliate against employees for exercising these basic rights. Retaliation includes firing, suspending, demoting, disciplining or otherwise discriminating against an employee for exercising these rights.
