Ditto, mine was just a lipoma. I've got another four or five of the things scattered around, but the one on my left arm was hardening to the point that it hurt to apply pressure so I had it cut out (I considered doing it myself but wimped out in the end).

I disagree. In fact, in my experience such students who are so very academically excellent can barely tie their shoelaces, **** a guy, or figure out how to efficiently grocery shop.
Such students? What such students? Students at Oxbridge aren't all academics, by any means. Indeed are mostly not. It's why they tend to *be* the people who shape the world, a lot more than those from anywhere else (bar perhaps a few Ivy League institutions). Loving the generalisations despite the fact I've already mentioned that's the university, not the students. Also, I was refering to when they get there - Oxbridge has higher entrance requirements than anywhere I'm aware of.

But good try.
No, but I know people here with much higher IQs than 155 I do accept the ceiling, and tests above 175-180 or so are always dubious, as to test accurately there there becomes a certain amount of subjectivity.

Also, the SATs were done when I was 15, and measurement error is +/- 40 points or so, so I'm not particularly impressed. 1600 on the SATs is not very difficult.
I do know people who are actually smarter than me, so I wouldn't be surprised if you did too.
I was refering to people on Poly. I'd also bet on natural ability, even in sciences, Kuci, Jag and IW could come close (obviously all three a little younger).

This set of instruments for measuring quality is so bourgeois, it's embarrasing.
Wait, those weren't measures of measuring intelligence *at all*. They were responding to arguments from Asher that people at Oxbridge are purely academic and don't impact the world.
Intelligence would have to be a combination of some form of inate test (IQ/SAT/GRE), academic ability (level/university/grades) what you've done in the world, etc. Please don't misread my arguments, as I remember you did in the housing/debt thread. I'm not suggesting any of those things are ways of measuring intelligence or quality at all.
