After seeing that story about the kid getting 10 years for having sex with a minor (+ the sex offender label) I am of the opinion that people shouldn't do that. Doesn't matter if she is using him or not.

Other than that, I agree about communication.

When I was her age (10th/11th grade) I knew people who were pregnant in 8th grade, I knew girls who were prostitutes in 8th grade. Even my sister was having sex with her boyfreind in 8th (I think, might have been start of 9th) (he was a ****er, and was becoming a crackhead at the time). And other then (sometimes) saying I disagree, I said little.

I still stand by what I said about the dude being a loser. That was a free peice of advice. And I wouldn't have said anything more but for the story about the 17 yearold getting 10 years from getting a blow job by a 15 yearold (I don't have the story handy, but it was in Georgia).

Ah, but due to the anti-teen bias that is so common in society, it is far more common to automatically assume teens are liars.

Like the 911 operators who get distress calls from kids and hang up on them, automatically assuming they are pranking, thus allowing their mother to die or allowing their building to burn down.

One time, my friend was going a bit too fast on the highway. I was in the passenger seat. We were pulled over by a state trooper who was very officious, very polite, and very efficient.

When I related to my brother how well the cop treated us, he responded, "Well that's because you guys weren't black."

I can't think of any examples on this forum where someone assumed to be an adult is met with the same level of incredulity, skepticism and disdain.

If Dis posts saying he went to a prostitute no one says (as if he wasn't there), "oh he is probably just exaggerating, you know how white males make stuff up all the time, who knows what he really did, he probably just wants attention".

And yes Lorizael, there IS a great deal of subtle racism among the police (and ageism too). Racial profiling is very real and is definitely a problem.

You are right to say that Arrian is pretty silly to assume b etor is lying to us, cause anyone one of us could be putting on a show here. But no one ever makes accusations like that when someone is assumed to be an adult.
