Too bad he died before the case was over.

Heresson, you are from Poland. You should remember people wearing uniforms like these and still you defend scum like him?

Well advisors and the personal doctor of Allende were with him when he comitted suicide. I don't think they lie to help the "official history" if it were not true.

Besides Allende was a fan of former President Balmaceda, which faced the civil war on 1891 and comitted suicide after the presidencial side lost the war against the parliamentary faction. "It's the only way out for a President" he used to say. Quite honorable

So say the coup leaders. That absolves them of the murder. I don't believe them.

                  Yes.

He had one every time he killed someone. The man was like that all the time.

                  Weird.

There was a (moderately funny) joke in Poland once...

After general Jaruzelski declared martial law in Poland, he received a telegram from Pinochet.
                    It said:

                    Well done!

                    btw, return my sun-glasses

this pic reminded me of that

This must be the first victory for communists in at least 20 years. Not much of one in the greater scheme of things, but it will have to do...

Pinochet died on the international Human Rights Day.

One positive thing I noticed in the last couple of weeks was that he stated that as he neared the end of his days, he held no rancor in his heart, only a sense of love for his country. I think that's a powerful statement from such a high ranking and controversial political figure, and I hope it will at least somehow help to prevent violent clashes in the wake of his death.

Also, the media here reports that there will be no state funeral for Pinochet, contrary to what has been posted earlier.

It's the possible implications of his statement that I find to be positive. Don't you?
