I 'tried' out a couple of others on the way. I would have possibly stuck with Budaj had he played well. I picked him up as I'd heard he was getting the start for good play in the previous game. Turns out he flopped, so as the GM I 'sent him back to the farm' just as I think his coach will reintroduce him to the bench.

The forwards rotating was a consequence of having to drop a skater to pick up a goalie for my injured, but not then on IR, goalie. My oppo has 3 players who play 4 times this week. I was getting skunked in games so I started the rotating.

Speaking of 'fair', 'fair' would be every team getting the same number of skater games per week, and the same number of goalie games but that's not how the league is set up due to putting the square peg of various team schedules into the round hole of game weeks.

Your opponent was almost dead even in skater/goalie games until your rotating, now you're well ahead in both.

When I counted it up, before I dropped a forward for a goalie, you had 34 skater games and I had 31.

Incidently, for someone who doesn't have a lot of time on-line you spend an inordinate amount of it bickering.

I have a lot of time online, but it's not consistent and I don't want to spend it micromanaging my roster nightly. I have better things to do, like get laid.

I apologize if my appetite for fairness across the league impedes with your massive desire for victory in a simple hockey pool.

If you don't want to spend 10 minutes on your team, that's your problem. Most of the time is actually spent reading about hockey, but I can understand that you'd rather bicker and troll. That's your choice.

I'm not always going to be on at night, particularly if I'm away on a client's site during the week. I'm also in the eastern time zone, and I go to bed before all of the games are finished. I cannot access Yahoo from work, so the time I can actually check it each day is in the evening, which is far from optimal compared to someone like you who, looking from the transaction logs, is on 24/7.

Now if you'd stop it with the cat fight, why don't you tell us how this is fair to people who are not able to be on as much as you. That's the key, really.

At any rate, it sounds as if you want a pedestrian league. Maybe you should find one next year.

Oh, and why would you need all the games to be complete? You're looking for a guy playing the next day and those usually aren't playing the previous day. Even if some are, what difference does it make, other than to make you think that guy might be tired the next night?

Good effort to keep the bickering up though.

As I said, a monkey could do it in 5 or 10 minutes. Spend more time if you want, but it is pretty trivial to sort available players by various stats and observe which ones are playing the next game day and against whom.

And if everybody starts rotating players, it becomes an exercise of who is on most to nab them at the most opportune times. Which, again, would likely be you.

I'm going to summarize why I feel strongly about this one last time:
1) It's not in the spirit of building a fantasy team
2) It heavily favours people who are on all the time who can make moves far more readily than others
3) To keep the playing field even, most people will start doing this especially as the standings get closer and people look for 1-2 extra points from rotating players. This creates waiver hell.
4) It's not something I consider fun, nor would I think most people consider fun. It's tedious, nightly work that will sadly be necessary to compete if certain people keep doing it to whore up the skater and goalie games each week.

That's a matter of whining that you have discovered life is not all like being in university. Welcome to reality, the rest of us have lives as well.

Yes, it would still be unfair. Because not everybody can be online all the time like you, which means not everybody can grab the players as quickly as you can.

I don't know why so many people have such a hard time grasping this. Maybe they concede it has an advantage but they think it's fair game that people should be forced to dedicate a lot more time to this game than necessary to do tedious acts not necessary for the marginal competitive edge to keep up with people who have nothing better to do with their time...
