Anyway, the notion that gay marriage not having been passed means we're like in Jim Crow as far as gays is concerned is just silly. Gays right now have as many rights and as much visibility as theyve ever had. And far more than they had as recently as 40 years ago. I know, I know, 40 years ago is like the stone age. You know when Jews were allowed into the US? 1654. You know when full civil equality was reached in the last state that still required a Christian oath for office holding - 1854 or so(New Hampshire). 200 years. Blacks were freed from slavery in 1863, and didnt get full civil rights for a hundred years. The gay advance since Stonewall in 1969 has been tremendous.
