    Leading GOP contenders at this point are:

    McCain, Romney, and potentially Guiliani

    Allen was considered but is now dead.

    Dems

    Hillary, Gore, Obama

    Kerry is now dead.

      To claim that some half assed local effort in the 1970's is some how equal to the completely orchristrasted Republican campaigns of the 10 years is insane. We have the very leadership of the Republican party engaged in the supression of the nonwhite vote. It is clear that Republicans hate people who aren't white and want to see the not vote.

                Frist for all intents and purposes gave up any claim he might have had at making a legitimate run IMO for the way he handled the issue of Democrats fillibustering nominees.

                  Newt doesn't have a chance, although the man is one smart cookie. It would be interesting to have a Newt Hillary show down tho'
