So this morning I tried on my ol' trunks. All that water must have shrunk them. So this weekend, I'm off to the mall to buy larger ones, and then next Monday, I'm off to the Y.
My wife and I just signed up. I dunno how effective swimming once a week will be, but I figure it's better than nothing.

I guess it depends on why you're working out. If you're just trying to drop some weight and do so w/o causing injury, swimming seems like a decent way to go.

Yeah swimming is lots of fun. It's great exercise and much easier on the knees then jogging.

Jogging is ok, it keeps you trim but the concrete really takes a toll on you.

            I´m registered at Hyperstrike
They give you a computer generated exercise program, and which you can personalize according to your needs.
You don´t even need a gym to do it, as you can swap exercises for other ones which train the same muscle groups and therefore can adjust the exercises according to the equipment you have at home (some basic equipment would be advisable, for example a pair of dumbbells).

I for my part can say that it was a good idea to start the program (with 3 times a week betwenen 1-2 hours every time), as I really feel the difference in a lot of areas ( for example being able to work longer a day, having less problems with getting out of the bed every morning and so on).
I think you can benefit too, ölancer, as long as you do your exercises according to some kind of fitness program (which takes into account all of your muscles for training, not only biceps, triceps and abdominal muscles ) and as long as your program doesn´t neglect endurance training (for example via jogging [hyperstrike for example schedule half of the exercise sessions for muscle building and the other half for endurance])

I do a lot of swimming, although I have lapsed again recently (I keep lapsing, which is a pain). I must go swimming again, try and get rid of this flab.

And I, too, am used to moving iron back and forth. I drive my car to and from work every day

Because swimming = cardio exercise and weights = strength exercise duh !

Nah, we had breakfast and I got signed up at the gym. :whew: No lifting today. We'll get to the pumping Friday night (Saturday morning) at 1:30AM after work.

Watched a guy working on a Roman chair. Man, memories of self torture. Think I'll leave that one to the Romans. Someone needs to tell them how to properly use a chair.

Sit on a crossbar, hook your feet under another. Bend backwards until your dong is at the greatest altitude of anything and your head at the lowest, then try to get back up.
