I just think it's silly to reflexibly pull the race card against anyone who supports immigration reform. It's one thing to critique his position, and I think there are some solid arguments, but quite another to actually rebut his points.

And yes, I agree that people who aren't white can be racists too. I mean I would have to be blind to live in Vancouver and not notice tensions between differing communities here. I also know that Oerdin thought Mr. Sowell was just another white anti-immigrant cracker.

Can I ask a question? How exactly is what the Senate proposing an amnesty anyway? AFAIK, illegals would (a) have to pay a rather large fine [at least it would be for me], (b) learn English, and (c) wait ~11 years [I'd really like to see this backlog cut down. There was a story about this long wait in USA Today that shocked me] before becoming a citizen. That doesn't seem like an amnesty to me especially if we actually enforce penalties on those that employ illegals this time.
